I did not have a good experience here at all. I fully comprehend that this is a charity type service. But, it's not ACTUALLY. It's a sliding scale clinic, meaning it's not free. I was a victim of an accounting error on my first visit. The "co-pay" was more than I thought it would be, so I had brought cash for what I thought it would be, then covered the rest with my debit card. The staff lost the cash portion of my payment and actually blamed me, stating I must have not paid everything at first visit? After being harangued for money I didn't owe three times, I over payed by half, hoping that would get them off my case. MONTHS LATER, at a dental visit where I had multiple extractions the staff member that lost my payment again questioned me about this payment??? I was getting to the end of my rope with this entity. The help they provide is invaluable, the staff leaves much to be desired. Although, the dental workers and pharmacists were full of empathy and helpfulness. Finally, I was also being treated for a heart condition. They said I needed labs done. I went where they told me to for labs. The lab said they had no records for me. I figured, "No, big deal". I had already seen the proficiency of their admins so, figured I'd straighten it out at next visit. Again, was asked about money I didn't owe at that visit, setting the tone. Waited in room for Dr for 45 minutes. I needed heart meds refilled and had worked 10 hours that day. I didn't want to wait. Just wanted heart meds refilled and appt reset to when they could actually see me on scheduled time. Dr refused to get up from backroom she was planted in to see me. Refills were refused because I had no labs, that they never ordered??? And was made to feel like a heel by their staff for wanting to be treated like I know I deserve instead of how they see fit.

I appreciate it.

When I first heard about the Samaritan I thought "wow sounds like a great deal!" The beginning process was smooth, the first appointment took about 4 months to get seen (wasn't complaining cause I didn't have teeth that were hurting me), took another 4 months to get my first appointment and the dentist filled a big hole I had on my molar (wasn't bothering before) after it was filled I went home and I couldn't eat on it without an excrutiating pain running from my jaw to my head. I also would have random migraines. So I called Samaritan back and they scheduled me a week later to "shave off" some of the filling and sent me home. I continued to have these horrible pains and migraines. I called back once more and the appointment lady was gone on vacation (no one else could make me an appointment) I had to wait a whole month before charly the appointment lady would go back to work. I finally spoke to her and she says I don't know if we can or cannot help u with a root canal, I have to talk to the dentist next week and then call you back (she had previously told me that they could do a root canal) everyone I speak to there is rude and could care less if you are in pain. I understand this is charity but if I didn't have pain before the filling and after the filling I'm left with this much pain it's pretty sad they don't treat it as an emergency or priority. No sympathy from these people at all and not very Samaritan-y or church-y of them. Would not recommend at all.

Wonderful group, Dr. Laura, Carmen, Mari have helped, and educated me tremendously to take care of my diabetes. Always friendly, nothing but positivity every time I visit them.

I recommend this clinic if you are unemployed and have all day to sit around for an appointment. For us uninsured working poor, take real time off of work, pack a lunch and be prepared for a lot of mistakes.
