Mid-rant, the lady apparently did not want to listen to me anymore, just hands the phone to the locksmith (who had just left my house) and he introduced himself as the person who was just here. He told me various things such as how they usually tell their clients about lubricating the lock, how he performed a service by fixing my lock, and that I'm paying for things such as how it took a vehicle to drive to my house. Also he even mentioned to me how he could have easily charged me twice as much, but he was being nice.

Had an emergency situation, 2 yr old locked me out the house. Brian came to my house within 10 mins and had my door open in seconds. He wouldn't even charge me, probably sensing my distress as the fire truck was there, as well. I really appreciated the kindness and professionalism during a situation when I was already upset!! Thank you again!!

Added some silicone based lubricant.

Their service and professionalism was well beyond my expectations. There was plastic lodged in the lock and others would either not try or wanted to charge an exorbitant amount of money to fix it. CP Lock and Key took on the challenge and not only fixed it but did so very quickly and for a very reasonable price. They were great!

I called again, post-service, at 4:46p to express $73.61 was a bit much and I just didn't see or understand the 'value' of what it was I purchased (like, was their work guaranteed? I still don't know the answer).

Look, my point is that if you call tech support or a plumbing service, they'll ask you silly troubleshooting questions such as "have you plugged in your monitor, or turned the device off then on", or "have you tried pressing the reset button on your garbage disposal", before sending out someone to have a look at such a high price.

How?

Beyond that, I hope you're not looking to this place for ANY type of "customer service" or for any type of "client education" for that matter. They sound like a bunch of jaded folks who are unhappy with their job. I can't imagine why they are so unhappy if they're charging out the wazoo for something they could just recommend to their customers over the phone (perhaps their customers like to object to their pricing structure often). Spare me by not wasting your gas driving the 2 minutes to and from my home without so much as a smile and then making me pay half of your car insurance for the month.

Considering I utilized SOME of their silicone lubricant and the gas it took to get here, which was obviously not much (because the locksmith had already made it back to their office) and probably adds up to something like $1.50, perhaps adding in the time for the locksmith, but I don't know anybody who makes $169.87/hr, that's pretty much the rate I was charged for all-in-all a 1 minute quick fix.

The lady I spoke to when I called initially asked me to describe in detail what was wrong with my lock and the situation. I was not offered any silly advice such as "have you tried to lubricate the lock", or something, for us plebs.

Brought in 2 key cylinders and he made keys for them in a couple of minutes. Quick service.

I also asked about the "tax" for a locksmith service, because I was unaware that you could charge tax on a 'service', to which I was told "you'll have to take that up with the comptroller". Rude, it was just a question.

Two stars for the fact that 1, my lock was fixed, and 2, it was fixed quickly. (My key wouldn't lock my door, but could unlock it).

Took 5 minutes TOPS for the actual service, half of that to write up a service ticket for $68.00+$5.61 tax for a grand total of $73.61.

It only took 26 minutes in total for a phone call (4:20pm) to have a locksmith sent out (arrived 4:35p), lube the lock, write a service ticket and left at 4:40p.

Fast service and fair price. Brought in a blank key for our 2005 Honda Pilot that I bought on amazon. Cut it and programmed it for $92 and I was on my way in under 30 minutes.
