Excellent renovation, and glad to have an AMC close to home. The staff is great too. Had more than enough people working, and all very friendly. I won't just be back, this is the only place I will go if I choose!
Fortunately for me they were not busy, but that also meant I could tell if sound bled through the walls from other theaters. It doesn't, and again I cannot express enough the quality of picture and sound.
They are still working on the front entrance, but the inside looks awesome! If you are not an Alamo Drafthouse snob then it is better than anything in the area. Unfortunately people do not compare apples to apples when they review.
Very nice way to watch a movie in a more intimate setting along with very comfortable seating. Will be going back again to watch more movies there.
If you are looking for a traditional theater that has a full bar then this is the spot to go. I personally prefer to buy at concession and walk back to the theater, and find that waiters during the movie are distracting anyway. I paid for a movie, not to hear the specials during previews...
The seats are ok. Better than cinemark. The drinks are coke freestyle with free refills and there's a bar. The service and the food are the down sides. The tablet style ticket counter has always screwed up every time I've used it, and the food is typical movie theater way-overpriced junk. They also have a history of playing the wrong movie, and/or playing it late. Alamo is still the better choice.
Went to see a movie last night- had reserved seats in back of theater .... only to find that the lights above our seats and the row ahead of us (they had a lowered ceiling above both rows) could not be turned off during the movie. My husband went to ask if they could please turn off the lights (once the movie started) but was told that those lights were on for “safety”. There was a glare in our eyes the entire time from the over head lights :( not great - if u go- get the seats closer to the screen
I really hate to leave negative reviews, but my experience at this theatre was atrocious. Sat through 2 hours of Blade Runner a week ago (after 15+ previews before the show) only to have to miss the ending because the theatre alarm went off. There was no explanation of why the alarm went off and I'm pretty sure it was deliberately pulled. They gave me a free movie pass to see it again, but when I came back a week later, it was no longer showing in 3D at a time I could see it.
Like I said if you are looking to see a movie then leave the Drafthouse behind. Great sound, excellent picture and the best seats any theater offers with enough leg room for a giraffe. Yes it is not true stadium seating, but the grade is enough combined with the seat style that there is not a bad place to sit.
