I don't know if it's the balyage treatment itself, the lack of experience working with mixed race hair (her hair looks soft and feels soft but has a fine coarse texture to it), both, or something else, we are thankful for the second opportunity to try to get it right.
The staff seems very nice, my daughter loved the second stylist, and we would definitely go again for a trim.
I'm rating a 1 Because I can't rate a -4. The girl that did my sister's nails was clearly on something. My sister's acrylics from before were not properly removed and polish was still placed over and the nails were smugged before being totally dry. Please do not advertise as a nail shop if your technicians are not properly trained.
I never write reviews but this experience just won't leave my mind. A couple of months ago I purchased the balyage treatment for my daughter's hair (she's 17) because the salon said it would be the best way to get what she wanted. The desired effect was reached only in the piecy hair that framed her face, and she loved that part. The rest of her hair wasn't much lighter than before but where it took was starkly uneven in an unnatural way. We let the stylist know. She really was very kind but at the point of dissatisfaction, it felt like she was unwilling to acknowledge our concerns and made excuses. She also placed the few strands that turned out well, back over the top of my daughter's head. It wasn't working. I pulled the lady from the front desk and she saw my daughter's face and said, "She's not happy is she?". Additionally the product the stylist put in her hair was not a good fit. We left with the promise that the color would continue to lighten over time. My daughter tied her hair in a bun for the rest of the day...after a $170.00+ appointment! Grrr. Unfortunately it did not continue to lighten and strategically placing a few blond strands to make the chopped up color blend better was tiresome indeed. She constantly wore it up.
Nadine is the best- I highly recommend her, she is patient and accommodating and goes out of her way to ensure her clients are satisfied with their experience!
I have been going to Breeze Salon for several years off and on. I usually use whoever can get me in on a moment's notice, as I am a mother of 4 and it very hard to get 4 hours to get my hair done. I have not cut my hair in 15 years short and have just thrown my hair in a side braid or side bun. I've been in a bad rut but too afraid to rock my short Bob of yesteryear. Everytime I go get my hair done, the stylists ask how short and I test the waters on "maybe I should cut it shorter." All the stylists say, you know we will just trim off the damaged ends in the bottom, both of us not really confident that shorter is the way to go. Well, I got Val at Breeze. Don't let his youth and good looks fool you. I did my classic, "I've been thinking about going shorter" routine and Val was like "yep, you need a total transformation." He got me a glass of wine and in one "pre-cut" swoop, took 6 inches off. He spent an hour and a half meticulously highlighting my hair (I have thin, but a lot of strands) and then gave me an excellent cut. Val had the confidence to do what many, many, other stylists, not just at Breeze, did not and I feel like a new woman. He didn't go crazy and cut too far but just the right amount so that I could still put up in a pony but also rock my curls in a short style. I'm so pleased and think you have some great natural talent in Val. I'd build him up if he were working with me. Great experience and thanks from happy hair.
I give two stars instead of one because the people at Breeze were great when we returned. They re-did the treatment and smoothed the lines out so the different colors looked natural and a different styling product was used that worked much better. That said, the hair never lightened over the next 8 weeks as promised, and after all was said and done, the effect could have been achieved with a little Sun-in. You can hardly tell we got this expensive treatment.
BoPeep gave me the most wonderful experience at the cedar park location in the spa. She went above and beyond my expections to feel good when I left!
